MinSocWA Mission

To encourage mineralogical study by amateur and professional alike and, in so doing, discover, document and preserve the Earth’s and in particular Western Australia’s natural history

Welcome to the Mineralogical Society of Western Australia (MinSocWA). We are a not-for-profit organization that caters to all mineral enthusiasts and anyone keen to learn more about minerals.

MinSocWA has over 100 members from WA and beyond. It promotes mineral knowledge and research via monthly talks and activities, regular Newsletters and field trips. It supports the Australian Journal of Mineralogy, and its members are currently working on a project to expand Simpson’s Minerals of Western Australia. Our third Perth Gem and Mineral Show (PGMS) will be held on 11-13 October 2024 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Perth CBD!

MinSocWa’s gatherings aim to attract like-minded mineral enthusiasts in a relaxed and friendly environment, where information is shared, opportunities to learn and debate are presented, and mineral specimens can be viewed and/or traded. Members are encouraged to take active part in the activities of the Society and, in so doing, contributing to the advancement of its objectives.
