Micromount workshop – for MinSocWA members only

This workshop will cover:

• What is a micromount
• Tools for micromounting
• How to present a micromount – mounting techniques, labelling and storage
• A practical mounting activity (specimens provided)
• Show and tell (time permitting) – participants are welcome to bring a specimen from their collection (NB only minerals with a known location and already identified)

A limited number of microscopes will be available, but members are welcome to bring their own (including lighting and own extension cord/power board).

Some material for viewing will also be available (again, these will be identified species with a known location).

RSVP to activities@minsocwa.org.au is essential, as attendance is limited to 15 MinSocWA members (a waiting list will be maintained).
