General meetings of the Mineralogical Society are held on the 2nd Wednesday of odd-numbered months (i.e. January, March, May, July, September and November), commencing at 7.30pm (venue usually open by 7pm for socialising). A talk by invited speakers follows the general meeting at about 8pm.
Workshops/activities are held on the alternate months, usually on a Sunday or on a weekday night.
Unless otherwise stated, we meet at the clubrooms of the WA Lapidary and Rock Hunting Club Inc., at 31 Gladstone Road in Rivervale. See location map.
Field trips to localities of mineralogical and/or geological interest are held once or twice a year. For insurance purposes these are usually open only to financial members of the Society.
Please note that mineral collecting and fossicking in Western Australia requires a Miners Rights or Section 40E permit. Visit our Field trips page to find out more.
