Micromount workshop

Alan Longbottom and Clive Daw will be running a micromount workshop on Sunday, 28 April 2024 at the Lapidary Club. This will start at 10am and continue until 1 pm.

There will be 5 microscopes available, a range of equipment, tools and mounting requirements, as well as various mineral specimens.

Participants are encouraged to bring their microscopes if they have one, and specimens (and mounting boxes if they prefer their own style).

During the workshop, Alan and Clive will provide an overview of what micromounting is, what tools can be used, how to prepare specimens, and there will be an opportunity to view/identify specimens.

Clive will have a large rock breaker in case one might be needed.

Alan anticipates that participants will also contribute to the discussions with their own experiences and approaches.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided (but no lunch).
